1. Request to add more details regarding MDN and 997 in alert emails for EDI data monitoring

   The following details must be included in the alert email generated for EDI data monitoring:

   997-
   The Alert for 997 should contain the following information for the transaction we are expecting 997.
   Partner Name
   Transaction name
   Unique number of the outbound transaction i.e shipment number/invoice number. It can be added with Interchange, group control and edi qualifiers for the better visibility.

   MDN –

   The Alert for MDN should contain the following Info for the message it is expecting a MDN.
   AS2 Partner Name
   AS2 Message Id
   Date/Time It sent
   the AS2 From and AS2 to party information

   -- Also an alert must be generated checking if the received MDN is positive or negative.

2. Process Monitoring - Allow the addition of more than one receive/send combination

   Allow multiple receive/send monitors to be grouped into a single monitor. Could use AND/OR operators to tune the monitor.

3. Allow the creation of Alarm Mapping templates used in by alarms (instanced or referenced)

   As per title and other suggestions.

   Allow a mapping template to be created and named. These templates would be 'masters'. Then when creating alarms allow a template to be selected and instanced into the alarm or copied to a version and the versioned copy referenced by one or more alarms. Obviously if a template is copied version is referenced by multiple alarms dependencies would need to be displayed or alerted if changes were made to the referenced mappings for example.

   I could go on but the idea is there ...

4. Enhance filter options in Data monitoring with wildcard search

   I am needing the capability to route suspended message ‘Data Monitoring’ notifications to some IT partners, but, based upon information that is in ONLY available in the Message Context. In these cases, the BizTalk messages are suspended with an Application Name of “Microsoft.Practices.ESB”, but are not able to make it to the Exceptions Portal and only associating the root application that caused the issue in the Message Context, which is how today we manually review and manually notify the development groups that these types of Suspended Messages occur. What I need is the capability to search generically across all Context Data elements, not just one if that eases the solution, using something like a SQL “like” wildcard.

5. Redesign monitoring dashboard

   The monitoring dashboard does not scale properly. When you use threshold monitoring in collapsed view, only the top part of the dashboard scales.

   The bottom part, which lists the applications you want to monitor, does not scale, resulting in scroll bars and applications which are not visible in the dashboard because they won't fit on screen..

6. Redesign monitoring dashboard

   At this moment the monitoring dashboard, especially when displayed on a wallboard, contains a lot of excess white space. If you, for example, only want to display threshold monitoring in collapsed view, you see one sole small representation of the top level, followed by a lot of white space. And only then you get to see the applications you are monitoring.

8. Stop and disable the host instance when auto correction is set to Disabled

   There is no way for setting Stopped and Disabled states – not for monitoring or auto-correct behavior.

   The problem this is creating for me is that if someone inadvertently starts a secondary FTP Receive Host Instance (as someone did recently) I want BizTalk360 to:

   1. alert me that this Host Instance is in an unexpected state
   2. have auto-correct set it to the desired state – Disabled
   3. and stop the running service – because it should never have been started and must be stopped: a. Set to disabled and left running is not what I need b. Setting ‘Desired State’ to Stopped and using auto-correct to stop it isn’t enough – it needs to be disabled to draw someone’s attention to the fact that this service should not be started if it is seen to be down. This is special behaviour required by the limitations of the FTP Receive Adapter where business needs don’t justify clustering costs and a ‘warm standby’ solution is sufficient.

   So in summary, what I would like BizTalk360 to do is to:

   · Allow me to set desired state monitoring to disabled (which it does)
   · Allow Auto-Correct to set the status to disabled (which it does)
   · To also stop the service if it is running before setting the state to disabled

11. Combine Threshold Monitoring with Data Monitoring

    When creating a new Alarm you must enable one or more of the 3 independent alarm types:
    - Threshold
    - Health
    - Data Monitoring

    There does not seem to be any logical reason that when an alarm should monitor Thresholds that it shouldn't also be monitoring Data and vice versa.
    We ran into an issue when we built some DB Query Monitors and attached them to Alarms that didn't have Threshold monitoring enabled, only Data Monitoring. We never received alerts when the DB Query was triggering a failure. Only upon detailed investigation when we noticed that we were in a failure condition but had never received an email did we track down that Threshold monitoring was not enabled and DB Queries are part of Threshold, not Data Monitoring.

12. Add "Data Monitor dashboard" to a custom dashboard

    It should be possible to add "Data Monitor dashboard" to a custom dashboard. It should show the same GUI as you see when you access data monitoring dashboard except you should only see
    the alarms for the applications you has access to. then configure that page to only show alarms of interest.

14. Check inbound file size < 10 kb

    The customer has a new BI process that collect data and send it to the CRM system.
    Sometime there are no data, the source system creates an “empty” file.
    The file is not empty because there is the header information, but no data.
    Customer asked me to create an alarm, if a file smaller than 10 kb would be found.
    I hoped to find this function into the Data Monitoring, but was not.
    I think this could be a good function for a future version.

16. Process Monitoring should be able to use 'last day of month' as an option

    We have a process we want to monitor that runs on the last day of each month. There is no way to setup a Process Monitor to monitor this. Currently you must specify the exact day of the month and if that day doesn't exist in the current month than the process is ignored.

17. 24 hours Data monitoring with fixed time alert

    Actually in data monitoring, it is possible to schedule a 24h frequency monitor but we can't specify when the alert will be sent. By Example: Need to check if we receive a file for 24h and send the alert at 5hAM to call the support.

19. DR Log Shipping Alerts

    Is there any easy way of monitoring the status on the BTS Server Log Shipping Restore Databases job on the DR SQL instance so we can raise alerts if it fails?

    We have a client who has a cluster on both the production and DR side so 4 SQL servers total.

    I suggested we could set up alerting based on an SQL query but was wondering if there’s a simpler way.

20. Monitoring dashboard improvements on green /red lights

    The test was to stop IIS. Simulation of web server crash, malfunction or network error. We performed an IIS Stop service only. No stop of biztalk360 service.

    The results: The client browsers keep having the service status green flashing light at top right corner of the Dashboard monitoring portal. And the monitoring icon on the top left turned red saying that the service monitoring service is stopped (which is wrong).

    So, on the upper left (blue left panel with the menu), that a red light appeared beside the icons monitoring and analytics. The red light beside monitoring is saying that the monitoring service is stopped (we see that info when i stop the mouse over the icon). But the service monitoring is not stopped. It's still running. (Only IIS was stopped on B360 server). I understand that the browser has lost contact with the web server, so it can't really know the real status but it may say at this time that the status is unknow?

    So, since the green light do not turn to red after a backend error, this green flashing light is saying to the user that everything is fine, it's saying that the dashboard monitoring continue to collect status of the system which is false.

    There is inconsistency between the monitoring service light (at left) and the service status light (at right) when the client browser lost contact with the B360 web server.
